ABOUT

What is Graphene?

Professor Andre Geim and Dr. Konstantin Novoselov of the University of Manchester, UK, won the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics for their success in obtaining monolayer Graphene. They peeled away a thin layer of carbon from a piece of graphite using tape. When examined closely, the thin, single layer of carbon atoms appeared in a strong honeycomb pattern. That layer became graphene.

Graphene is the lightest, thinnest, hardest and strongest material known to man. Its two-dimensional structure is one atom thick and is a tightly packed layer of carbon atoms heavily bonded in a hexagonal honeycomb lattice. In fact, 100,000 graphene lamellae layers stacked on top of one another would be equal to the thickness of a human hair. Its density is three times harder than the surface of a diamond, and on equal weight basis graphene is 100 times stronger than steel.

Properties
Properties of Graphene

When introducing GRAPHENE to a variety of textile fibers, the characteristics of those fibers show superior performance,  like nothing that has ever been seen. GRAPHENE based gloves have incredibly high tensile strength, offer superior cut and abrasion resistance. At the same time, GRAPHENE possesses bacterio-static, deodorizing, uv resistance and thermal regulation properties.

Kyorene® Gloves
After years of intense research on GRAPHENE, a major breakthrough has been made with the development of graphene based special textile fibers, KYORENE®. The advent of Armor Guys Inc. graphene based range of protective gloves, a dramatic change in hand and arm protection for generations to come is on the horizon.

Kyorene® Pro Gloves

Building on the success of the 1st generation of Kyorene® graphene gloves and sleeves that has won acclaim the world over, QS Safety is proud to introduce Kyorene Pro®. Kyorene Pro® retains what made Kyorene® successful – bacterio-static, thermal regulation and odor neutralizing.  Utilizing our patented technologies and intellectual property rights, Kyorene Pro® raises the bar for hand protection.  Free of stainless steel and fiberglass, Kyorene Pro® is the only range of gloves to offer an array of features in one product that benefits the wearer like nothing before.
